Kathleen Corbet has over 35 years in global leadership experience in the financial services industry and over a decade of experience in board governance for civic, corporate and philanthropic institutions.
In the public sector, Kathleen was appointed in August 2020 to serve on the New Canaan Board of Selectman to fulfill the unexpired term of Kit Devereaux. She previously has served as a member of the Town Council, Board of Finance, Charter Revision Commission, Town Hall Building Committee, and as interim CFO for the Town of New Canaan. She has also served on the board of directors of the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority, appointed by Governor Dannel P. Malloy. Kathleen is the founder of Cross Ridge Capital, LLC, formed in 2008 and specializing in private investing and strategic consulting in the financial information services industry. She was formerly President of Standard & Poor’s (S&P) and previously in senior leadership positions for over 20 years in asset management for Alliance Capital LP (now AB), as EVP and CEO of the firm’s fixed income division, CEO of Alliance Capital International in London and Chairman of Alliance Capital Australia & New Zealand. In corporate governance, Kathleen has served since 2008 on the board of directors for MassMutual Financial Group and served as Lead Director from 2015 to 2018. She also serves as a director for Axiom Software Laboratories (private equity-held) and BlackRock TCP Capital Corp (NASDAQ).
For non-profits, Kathleen serves on the board of trustees for The Jackson Laboratory and as Chairman of the Board of Waveny LifeCare Network. She was a trustee of Boston College from 2000 – 2013 and now serves as a Trustee Associate.
Kathleen is a member of the New Canaan Beautification League, the Encore Club, the League of Women Voters and the Rotary Club. She has a previously served on the boards of the New Canaan Community Foundation, the League of Women Voters and as Treasurer and Vestry member at St. Mark’s Church.
Kathleen graduated from Boston College with a B.S. in Marketing and Computer Science and received her M.B.A. in Finance (with distinction) from New York University's Stern School of Business. Kathleen and her husband, Randy, have been married for 35 years and have two adult sons – a sports broadcaster / radio show host in South Dakota and an environmental fellow in Washington, D.C.
