Thank you to our NCHS Senior Interns

The New Cannan Democratic Town Committee would like to extend a special thanks to Ryan Boulanger and Amy Meng for the presentations they made to all of the members of the DTC on June 5. Amy reported on her work on education and energy and Ryan discussed affordable housing and energy. Both of their presentations relied on their focused and thorough research, their interviews with numerous elected and appointed officials as well as their observations and recommendations. They responded to questions from the attendees that demonstrated their in- depth knowledge of the many issues that they addressed. One of the issues that Amy brought to our attention is that the incoming kindergarten class is expected to increase by 25% in Fall 2026. She observed that our school system will have to allocate sufficient resources to accommodate these students and should be advocating  investment for this. Ryan  suggested that New Canaan consider increasing the density allowance near the Elm Street Train Station to further our creation of affordable housing.
