State grants $300,000 for Waveny Playground

The state of Connecticut is granting New Canaan $300,000 for playground improvements at Waveny Park. In a statement from Rep. Lucy Dathan, she said: “I’m thrilled to announce that $300,000 in state funding has been awarded through the STEAP Grant for Phase 2 improvements to the Waveny Park Playground! This investment will be matched by $325,000 from the town and an additional $150,000 generously contributed by the Friends of Waveny Playground.”

Dathan added that the partnership between the state, the town, and the community reflects a shared commitment to enhancing public spaces for families and children. “I look forward to seeing the continued transformation of Waveny Park!”
